The golden statue of Trump holding a Bitcoin was brutally mocked online.

A gold-colored statue of Donald Trump holding a Bitcoin, unveiled outside the Capitol yesterday, is facing heavy criticism online.

The 12-foot statue was installed outside the Capitol building on Third Street on the National Mall and was paid for by a group of cryptocurrency investors, according to WBFF.

“The installation is designed to ignite conversation about the future of government-issued currency and is a symbol of the intersection between modern politics and financial innovation,” said Hichem Zaghdoudi, one of the investors. “As the Federal Reserve shapes economic policy, we hope this statue prompts reflection on cryptocurrency’s growing influence.”

On social media, the reactions have not been very positive. Some people compared the statue to the Golden Calf from the Bible, which was an idol made by a group of Israelites when Moses went to Mount Sinai.

People mocked the Trump statue on social media for various reasons, including its cheap-looking construction and lack of detail.
