Trans mom uses Tucker Carlson impression to raise funds for gender-affirming surgery

"What are we doing? What's going on?"

A trans mom went viral on TikTok mocking Tucker Carlson. Now, that viral attention has helped to fund her facial feminization surgery.

Sandy Donald, also known as TikTok user @beateasy or just “Sam,” started releasing a series of videos back in May in which she portrays “my toddler but he’s Tucker Carlson” or “Toddler Carlson.” Highlighting the impractical and destructive logic of a toddler (with inspiration from her own child) in an imitation of Tucker Carlson’s style.

Tucker Carlson claims he never intentionally misled his audience. That’s another lie.

While Sandy has produced videos providing commentary on Carlson’s specific rhetoric, rather than being a straight parody of Carlson himself, her Toddler Carlson videos appear to build on Jeremy Culhane’s Saturday Night Live impressions of the right-wing commentator.

Culhane, who is also known for his Dropout work, first appeared as a caricature of Carlson in March, complaining about liberal politics and the 2026 Oscars. His performances have used phrases such as “that’s the rule now, that’s the goal,” “what are we doing? What’s going on?” and “Am I supposed to be attracted to this?” which have become catchphrases in Sandy Toddler Carlson videos.

Sandy’s first Toddler Carlson video was released in May, citing a parenting issue that will be relatable to many. “My mommy says I can’t pick up rocks from the ground and put them in my mouth. Huh. That’s the rule now. That’s the goal. What are we doing? What’s going on?”

In a June video, Toddler Carlson takes aim at Peakaboo, “the game that reframes deception as ‘fun’?” She goes on, “Sorry, kids, Mommy’s gone forever. Oh wait, no, now she’s back somehow. And you, have to accept that as fact.”

There is a wealth of these comedic videos to explore on Sandy’s TikTok.

In a video at the start of July, Sandy noted that she had surgery coming up that was not covered by insurance, and asked for donations to  her GoFundMe from anyone who had enjoyed her videos and was willing to support her gender-affirming care.

While she can be seen recovering from the surgery in some of her videos since then (including one responding to Lindsey Graham’s death), over the weekend she posted a video from shortly after the surgery doing a full Toddler Carlson impression.

“Leftist woke America wants trans women to get surgery so that their appearance aligns more with their identity,” says Toddler Carlson before providing a fun twist on the attracted question. “Am I supposed to be attracted to this? Because I am. Apparently if you get certain procedures done, you’ll get misgendered less. That’s the rule now. That’s the goal.”

But Sandy goes on to highlight a societal problem that trans people face when trying to get gender-affirming care that can make it so much easier for trans people to exist out in the world. “What they don’t tell you is that these procedures are not covered by your insurance? What are we doing here? What’s going on?”

In the caption, Sam thanked the people who had donated to her surgery fund after her videos mocking Carlson went viral. “Thank you to everyone who donated and continues to donate to my surgery fund; this has been life-changing.”

While Sandy has now had her surgery, she is still slightly short of her funding goal, and her GoFundMe remains active.
