Trump’s border czar promises more “bloodshed” if Democrats don’t stop criticizing ICE agents

Tom Homan, Trump’s so-called “border czar” overseeing national immigration and border security, told reporters yesterday that he can’t even buy milk without being harassed due to Democrats’ “hateful rhetoric” against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

This rhetoric will end in “bloodshed,” Homan said; at least 60 people have died in ICE custody or in violent enforcement-related encounters since 2025, according to Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), while no ICE agents have died during that time, according to ICE.

“For any member of Congress who keep attacking ICE and calling them fascists and Nazis…. I said this a year ago. If the hateful rhetoric doesn’t stop, there will be bloodshed. And, unfortunately, I was right. And I’ll tell you something else. It’s not over yet,” Homan told reporters on Monday.

“They keep attacking and miscommunicating what ICE does every day, calling them Nazis. Comparing ICE to the Nazi regime — are you kidding me?” he continued, referring to agents tasked with carrying out the president’s agenda of mass deportations of immigrants, which has included violent arrests without warrants and forced detainments without due process in facilities with poor hygiene and rotten food.

“Guys, ICE agents are moms and dads, too. They don’t hang their heart on a hook every day to do this job. And it’s just not attacking the ICE agents, it’s attacking your spouses and children,” he said of ICE agents, who have routinely attacked and arrested people’s spouses and children.

“And no one knows that better than me. I can’t even go get a quart of milk at the grocery store without a security detail. Why? Because I’m enforcing the laws of this country. It’s pathetic and disgusting.”

Courts have ruled 4,400 times that ICE jailed people illegally, Reuters reported.

“I said if the hateful rhetoric didn’t stop, there would be bloodshed and I’m saying it right now: there will still be more bloodshed unless they shut their mouth and let ICE enforce the laws that they enacted,” Homan added.

ICE recently killed two men during traffic stops, one in Maine and the other in Texas. Homan said they were killed for not complying and for allegedly threatening officers. Non-compliance with ICE agents is a crime, but not one punishable by death. Judges have ruled that ICE officials  have provided courts with false information when justifying their violent actions.
